MirrorMate Transforms Master Bathroom Blah Into Master Bathroom Spa

I am so excited to share with you my first transformation of a client's bathroom using a MirrorMate custom frame. I was pleasantly surprised not only at the amazing results but also with how simple the frame was to install. It easily adheres to an existing plate glass mirror and instantly transforms the look of a space within minutes.

As a home staging expert I know that home buyers look carefully at kitchen and bathrooms when making their home sale decision. Bathrooms that are outdated or do not feel luxurious will not be on their must-buy list.  MirrorMate is a great solution for home owners or home sellers that are looking to update their bathrooms without the expense of removing the plate glass mirror, repainting and repairing walls, and purchasing a new mirror.

I was recently called in to provide a home staging consultation to a client that is moving out of a 5 year old condominium. This home seller was very savvy and understood that his home now will be competing with new construction condos that are on the market in the same price point. His home had many selling features including hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen and marble master bathroom. My main concern was that the brass faucets and builder's grade mirror in the master bathroom gave the bathroom an outdated look. I recommended that the client add new sconces and a MirrorMate frame to give this bathroom the same look as bathrooms in newer model homes.

Take a look at our before and after photos to see the results.  Before, the mirror made the bathroom feel cold and uninviting. After, the silver tone MirrorMate highlighted the new fixtures and made the bathroom look more custom and up to date. Make sure to visit the MirrorMate product gallery to see the many styles and colors of decorative frames they offer at www.mirrormate.com

Kate: This looks great and such a good idea to add pizazz to an otherwise dull bathroom. Your tips are always very helpful. Keep them coming! www.debrasdesigningdetails.com

Kate, the bathroom looks fabulous!  I was wondering if you would share what this cost.  I once priced a MirrorMate frame for a staging job and ruled it out as too expensive.  My friend's husband was a distributor for them and he had sent me a packet of sample frames and I was so excited to be able to use them for this particular job, but when I priced it, it seemed out of line for the benefit.  I know you're now the spokesperson for them, so hopefully you can assuage my doubts.

Thanks.

That's a huge change, Kate.  I've used this as a solution in a home I staged in Atlanta.  Not sure it was Mirror Mate as the agent had coordinated the ordering and install. However, it was a perfect solution and really changed the look and feel of the bathroom.

Hi all,

Thanks for your kind comments. To answer some of your questions:

The fee for the MirrorMate depends on the size of the frame needed and the finish that your client selects. In this case it was less expensive to install a MirrorMate than to remove the frame, patch the walls, repaint and purchase and install a new mirror. The frame also adds a lot of "wow" to the space for a minimal investment.

It is best for you to go to their site www.mirrormate.comto get an accurate quote. They are also having a Spring Sale which makes it even more enticing for your home sellers. The investment in a MirrorMate frame is certainly less than an entire bathroom remodel but makes a huge statement!

I have to say that I have always admired this product but actually seeing it in person made me love it even more- the entire installation took 5 minutes (yes you read that right) and both the home sellers and myself were thinking we should have done this years ago and in more bathrooms!

Their home goes on the market next week- I will keep you posted. kh

Thanks for the link Kate--this is always something we come up against, and if the homeowner's aren't able to do it themselves--this does it for them....great tip! Thanks!

Kate,

Framing the plate glass mirror, has substantially changed the way the Master Bathroom vanity looks.  This definitely is a great update that compliments the rest of the bathroom very well.

Kate, your bathroomm transformation looks great. I often reccomend a framed mirror to update bathrooms, but have never heard of this company.  Thanks so much for this info!  I signed up to get a wholesale information package.

I'll keep this info for the future.   The last home I staged I framed the mirror with moldings and painted them bright white.  It did wonders for the room

I've never seen this product before, I've had frames made in the past. What a great idea. I'm bookmarking the site.
