Hmmm.  A magazine publishing two of your articles without permission or payment?  I'm not sure I'd be as flattered as you....  :-)

I actually knew about the articles for HOME STYLE but I had not seen them.  I was interviewed for them some time ago but did not know that they had been published. I did not know others were using my articles on their site but I am ok with it since they are giving me credit. I just wish I woud get a link too. Sorry for the confusion. KH

Oh good.  Thanks for the clarification.  You can always send a note to the folks who are posting your materials and request a link to your site.  I think it's the least they can do!  At least they gave you credit!

Kate, I like to google myself every so often to see where I rank etc...  I did notice that a on-line paper in Utah had picked up one of my articles.  Apparently, they have a DC Metro Area in Utah but I am in the District of Columbia Metro Area - oh well, so far I haven't gotten any calls from clients in UT.

Kate, I've too noticed that the google heading will be me, but there are other people mentioned in the body.  Whasup with that?  Congratulations on your nomination!

What a nice surprise to find out that you have been quoted in those magazines!  Although I would have thought that the author would have contacted you prior to doing so.  I hope you can find back issues so that you can add them to your portfolio.

    How funny that you would just submit this blog as I had the most bizarre experience over googling two nights ago.  Actually it's usually my daughter who will google my name, my business name and the radio show to see where it pops up and then she'll tell me.  Well, the other night I did a google on myself ( gosh...that almost sounds illegal ) and I was happily looking over all of the pages I had under just my name and thought wow this is great!  Then I got a few pages in to it when I noticed there was another person with my name and she was a model in N. Carolina.  How interesting I thought...well let me check out the other " me ", I mean, having the same name as a model might be interesting....OMG....lets just say it gave new meaning to the term staging naked!!!  I won't go in to the details....but she proves another point...location,location,location...and gravity has not been friendly!  I nearly fell right out of my office chair.  Once I got over the total shock of it all, I laughed myself silly and shared the story with friends.  It's going to make for great blogging material for my other blog " The Martini Manuscript ".  So by all means...I agree google away...but be ready for things you never knew existed!!!

Hi Kate - congrats on the magazine articles!  At least those who used your posts did attribute you as the author, but I agree with you, a link to your blog would have been nice.  Now that I think about it, I just might contact those who used your posts and ask that they include a link to your blog as a condition to keep your articles up there.  Yep, that's what I'd do.

I haven't googled my name in awhile...last time I did I battled page one with a college athlete by the same name and a british photograhper with the same name!  =)  Maybe I'll see what I come up with today...thanks for bringing it up!  Happy New Year and, btw, I love your new pic!  =)

Thanks for all your comments. It is strange to see others with our names. At least I did not have to compete with a porn star like Gina. Kate Hart is also a famous Blues Singer!
